On August 15th, 2018 students and staff at Pattison Elementary School returned to a newly renovated campus.  Pieper Houston in collaboration with Construction Manager Brookstone to renovate the existing K-5th grade campus. Pattison’s interior reconstruction consisted newly refreshed administration, life skills spaces, and science labs. Additionally, the kitchen, restrooms and Life Safety and HVAC systems were replaced.

A new Spring middle school built to serve Spring ISD students at the most northern edge of the school district and was completed in December 2019. Pieper provided electrical contracting services for the new 149,000 sf facility that is built initially to accommodate 725 students but includes space for future additions. Pieper provided hi-tech lighting systems that make use of daylight to conserve electricity. The two-story building includes classrooms, fine arts, dining, library, and gymnasium spaces on the first floor with additional classrooms on the second floor and new athletics fields on the West side of the Campus.

Pieper was the electrical contractor on the first student housing facility on The University of Houston-Clear Lake campus. The 80,000 square-foot, 294-bed residence hall allows for university to transition from a commuter campus to a comprehensive four-year university

This $22M project was completed in Fall of 2019.

Pieper completed this 160,000 square foot new construction project which is the new home for the College of the Mainland STEAM/Allied Health Building in Texas City, Texas. This new 3 story building houses the nursing program, dental lab and clinic, active learning classrooms, tiered lecture halls, and multiple laboratories.

Multi-phased additions and renovations were completed by Pieper Houston on the active Klein Forest high school campus. This project included construction of a new 75,000 SF Career and Technology Education (CTE) building and the addition of 15,000 SF to the existing field house for dance and ROTC facilities. Our scope included the coordination and subsequent demolition of the previous CTE building, renovations to existing CTE areas, and site work.

In Fall of 2018 Pieper completed the state-of-the-art, 121,000-square-foot Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) building featuring 13 faculty research labs, 15 teaching labs and a 100-seat tiered lecture hall. In this project Pieper completed $1.6M in electrical work and our work stands out as a leader in electrical construction for STEM buildings.

Pieper Houston Electric served as part of the team with General contractor JE Dunn to expand and then build the existing 26 story UT Health Science Center University Center Tower which was build in 1973.  The vertical expansion project consisted of adding two stories to create approximately 40,000 SF of medical office space above the existing top garage level. The University Center Tower Expansion included interior construction of 39,259 sq. ft. of classroom and office space for the School of Biomedical Informatics. This project was completed on time in January 2019.

Currently under construction Pieper Houston is the electrical contractor for UT- Health Science Center at Houston Continuum of Care Campus. The new inpatient behavioral health treatment facility will feature inpatient treatment, residential treatment, residential independent living, an outpatient assessment center, and a community conference center. This $90 million was started in June 2019 scheduled to be complete in November 2021.

The University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland’s 75,000 square foot health sciences classroom building houses the Center for Autism and Development Disabilities and the License Professional Counselors Program. On this ground up project Pieper Houston served as the electrical contractor which includes a new 100-seat lecture hall, biology and chemistry labs, nursing services and healthcare teaching laboratories.

With McCarthy acting as general contractor,extensive demolition and expansion of the new Lester and Sue Smith Holocaust Museum opened its doors late 2019. This project more than doubles the building’s original size from 21,000 square feet to 57,000 square feet. The museum includes two new floor levels, as well as an amphitheater, an expanded parking lot and a monument sign. Pieper’s role on this project was to install not only the electrical infrastructure but to fine tune the specialty lighting used to enhance the important exhibits in this beautiful museum.

The Holocaust Museum Houston has won the Houston Business Journal’s 2020 Landmark award for Community Impact. This renovation project was a highlight of our year and we couldn’t be more pleased with the museum getting the recognition it deserves. We encourage everyone to visit the newly renovated spaces and explore the important historical lessons the Holocaust Museum Houston has on display.

Pieper begin the install of electrical infrastructure to the new addition of Dawson High School in late 2018.  Pieper worked with Stewart Builders on the extensive renovations to the existing buildings during 2019.  Along with the new addition and renovations, to the existing school structure, Pieper Houston Electric installed the complex electrical wiring for the district’s largest football stadium, The Rig, including a new press box.

University of Houston – Clear Lake

This new $65.7 million STEM and Classroom Building at the University of Houston – Clear Lake campus, was completed in 2018. The 121,575 square-foot building provides state of the art classrooms, research labs and offices dedicated to the study of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Pieper’s team handled the installation of the main electrical systems, fire alarms, primary power duct and the cabling from CenterPoint Energy throughout the building, which includes two-story and three-story sections. In addition to the labs and classrooms, the STEM building houses a tiered lecture hall that seats 100 and an astronomy observation deck.

Tomball Memorial High School

As a growing community, Tomball needed a new high school. The campus serves approximately 2,200 students in a two-story, 350,000 sq. ft. building. Other amenities include a full sports complex including a football field, soccer field, baseball diamond and tennis courts. In addition, a new agricultural barn provides a place for students to keep livestock. Key electrical needs for the campus included parking lot lights, stadium lights, power and internet connections for computer labs, and dedicated outlets for home economics spaces and metal and wood shops.

Set for completion about three weeks ahead of schedule, the project was completed in March 2011. Pieper’s contribution to the project earned the team a Quality In Construction (QIC) award from Gilbane. The purpose of the award is to ensure all work has been installed correctly, is turned over defect-free, has been completed in accordance with the contract and the work meets the owner’s expectations.

San Jacinto Elementary School

Located in Deer Park ISD, this ground-up project was completed on December 5, 2012, in just nine short months! The school is trying to achieve a Gold LEED rating. Pieper handled all the electrical on the project and its subcontractors handled the data cabling, fire alarm systems, intrusion protection and access control.

San Jacinto College

San Jacinto College expanded both its north and south campuses with new administrative and student testing buildings. Each building is 32,600 sq. ft. The buildings stand out, as they sit right at the main entry of each campus, and their unique designs are much different from the existing architecture.

Pieper was in charge of the electrical for both projects, and Pieper Project Manager Travis Brown said the high vaulted, sloped ceilings of the buildings presented an interesting challenge with the light layouts and with determining the best way to connect the electrical systems. In addition, the team had to work around students, faculty and staff, as school was still in session.
